7 Years After It Was Discontinued Lexus Is STILL Selling Off The Original Run Of 500 LFAs

The Lexus LFA is a fascinating thing—a V10 supercar so unlike the rest of the company’s lineup, in both performance and price—and it has been since the car’s limited run of 500 units before production ended in 2012. But not all of those 500 units have been bought yet, and Lexus sold three new LFAs in 2019.

That number is up from two in 2018. Congratulations to all involved, because you’re luckier than the rest of us dweebs.

...In other news, there are 5,000 unsold 2019 Corvette C7's in 'dealer collections'...they might take less than list for them...

But a year from now they will all be gone, unlike the LFA

I wish I had some stock to sell. None on the lot.

The LFA is a nice supercar. However, after 7 years it doesn't seem to be worth more than the new-car pricing ($375k). Unless you just need the rare Lexus V10 coupe...the increase in re-sale value is basically moot. Otherwise, there are plenty of newer supercars that will do better than 552 hp/354 trq. I don't doubt it's a hoot to drive, even as a dally. This is where the ole Lesux/Toyota build quality & long-term reliability isn't all that important. Definitely not in this price range.

...not to mention a few new unsold Pontiac Aztecs sitting on some dealers back lots.

The GPS is antiquated, the very old tires have been the culprit in fatal accidents. The engine head valve springs have lost tension. All hoses and rubber gaskets have aged and lost elasticity. Suspension components are aged, oxidizes and stiff. Exterior paint has aged and is now difficult to match. All interior ergonomics are almost a decade old and well behind the times. Last, can you spell, major depreciation?

Dupont Registry asking price for a lightly used LFA is $499K USD. And I would suspect most are in showroom condition. This is not a product from the big 3. At 7 years old all it may need is a new battery.

High Value = High Demand
Low Value = Low Demand

As of now, the LFA is in the "low-demand" category. This is reminiscent of all of those "Last Convertible" Bicentennial Eldorados (no I am not that old) that went into storage only to trickle out to find that nobody cared.

Lexus LFA = Nobody Cares.

Kinda sad... since the high rev of engine sounds is simply thrilling

Now....if Lexus threw that V10 powertrain & suspension in a low, slick SUV based off the LS, then that would be cool!

Another troll post by Agent009, 'cuz Toyota. A lot of these LFAs were dealer owned I imagine and not sold unless for double or triple the MSRP.

Most dealers actually sold them to customers.
