VW's Arteon R-Line Edition To Begin At a Staggering $62,500

They can price it however they want. However, the market will determine the transaction price and it will be well below the MSRP. The A6 comes in below this price.

That price is for Germany, which has zero bearing on what a US price would be, assuming the same model was available here.

If it's anywhere near as plasticky as the Atlas Cross Sport thingie, then that's just outright laughable. Even if it wasn't that plasticky, then it's still laughable.

The only way VW can hope to finance the huge wave of EV vehicles its committed to and announced is to materially raise prices across its entire range. There will certainly be consumer resistance on a value basis to go along.

Note to Self.... NO VW Sedan is worth $62K... Full stop, stick to what you know VW AG for this brand, inexpensive transportation... or did know about what VW stands for. Blind stupidity as you keep your eyes trained on some mythological idea that it is Chic to pay big money for a VW, stealth wealth was already tried at VW, recalling the Phaeton... Can't VW AG get it into their heads, VW = People's Car...

I have no idea why it is so hard for any VAG brand to stay in its own lane. VW is the worst offender but Audi is also guilty. The R8 should not exist. It's coupe SUV should also not be faster than any from the brand above it. Easy to do, but seemingly hard to follow when ego's are involved.

That's easily $20K too much.

It's a nice car but way way overpriced. Interior quality is nowhere near Audi.

VW must think they are building high end German cars like the unsuccessful VOLKSWAGEN PHIDEON.
