Tesla Launches Free "All-Weather Protection Kit” For Those With A Rusting Model 3

Tesla Launches Free
Tesla is officially launching its new “All-Weather Protection Kit” in regions with tough climates after some paint issues were reported by Model 3 owners after last winter.

We get to see the new kit, which basically consists of mud flaps, in a picture released by Tesla.

In places with tough winters where they use salt and sand on the road, some Model 3 owners have reported surprisingly fast paint degradation behind the wheels.

The cheaper price is for the made-in-China Model 3, not for the American imports (no price changes there). You'd be crazy to buy the American version in China, it's like $15k USD more for the same car (due to massive import fees + VAT + purchase tax).

I was unaware that TESLA cars were not meant to be driven in the OPEN air unprotected. Aren't Most Highways configured in the Open Air?

Tesla should have kept the all-aluminum/alloy body from the S/X on the 3/Y. The pricing pressure resulted in an inferior car, they should have resisted that. From this perspective the stainless steel push on the Cybertruck was not a surprise.

Yeah, the aluminum is lighter weight too.

"All-Weather Protection Kit” is a spray can of Rust-Oleum rust primer.
