Mazda Makes First EV Artifically SLOWER So It Feels Like A Fossil Fuel Vehicle
Mazda has one of the strangest and most controversial approaches to electric cars and we just learned something else about it: the automaker made its first electric car artificially slower “to feel more like a gas car.”

The Japanese automaker has historically been seen as lagging behind when it comes to electric vehicles.

They have yet to launch an all-electric car, and Mazda executives have often talked down electric car technology publicly in favor of hydrogen fuel cells.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Artificially reducing performance to make it "feel" different.

How cleaver Mazda is. They must know that the public likes slow, boring cars.

Mazda is the VW of Japan in the sense that it ignores the market and is run by idiots.

WHAT... THE... F

And the award for the dumbest product decision in 2020 so far goes to Mazda.

At minimum they could make a system setting to toggle between full power and ICE-mode. Heck, they might as well put in fake gear shifts and a .5 second delay when hitting the throttle to make it more of a genuine experience.

This is the BS you come up with when you know you don't have a competitive product. This should be a $19k car tops.

Mazda has a history of DUMB decisions.

The Miata does not sell well at all and quickly becomes overpriced. Solution? Make the base $25K 2.0 model more of a value. Add a Miata GT for $28.5K with 300 horsepower and a suspension that ISN'T designed to slide through curves. A Miata GT would probably triple sales.

When they had the RX8, they needed to have had an MX8 with a piston engine because that would have expanded sales.

This product is the exactly wrong product for Mazda's first EV. It should have been a 3 row family crossover with accessible pricing.

Mazda will not last the decade. They may not even last the next 5 years at this rate.

I root for Mazda, but why even bother.
