Nissan was failing financially prior to the arrangement with Renault. Their finances have improved, but their products have declined.

Nissan was is financial trouble but they were far from failing. A bankruptcy reorganization would have solved their issues. Instead to avoid bankruptcy, they tied up with Renault who destroyed Nissan. Nissan would have been fine going the bankruptcy route.

Truthy ..
Yes, but Renault has had a bailout from the French givernment too. was a win-win for both at the time. Renault gets Nissans tech, Nissan gets Rensult money,, look at the Nissn products in the UK.. we get the rubbish Renault diesel engines in Nissan products, total runnish and poolute more than they claim.. cost cutting to the bone lesving wuslity lagging... Time for both to split...
BTW, Goshn isn't an angel...

Nissan and Infinity are victims of very poor management and design.

Nissan should immediately sell Infiniti to Hyundai so Hyundai can then re-brand their excellent "Genesis" lineup as Infiniti's and get Infiniti's excellent dealer network in the US.

This would be easy for everybody involved and Infiniti would probably be a cheap acqusition. Nissan would probably be happy to be rid of the Infiniti dealer obligations and Hyundai would benefit from the US management/distribution/customer service expertise at Infiniti. This is a 'win-win'
