Unintended acceleration is a bit of a red herring sometimes. Toyota got accused of that as well. I had to bring my truck in to have 1/4" shaved from the bottom of the gas pedal.

When I asked why they said it was (paraphrasing here) Darwin Award contestants who pile old floor mats on top of new ones. Sometimes tech's find them 3-5 mats thick on some cars. It is insanity. So for those without a brain or common sense there is a recall.

Tesla has their own insurance program to keep BS rates in check. I pay about $100/mo per car which I think is fine for a $500 deductible and above average coverage across the board.

SO who is going to repair all these recalled cars? No dealer network so enjoy your trip to the closest service facility. Don't forget to map the route along charging stations. What a "f"ing inconvenience.
