You must have heard that Tesla considers opening a Design Center in China, right? If you haven’t, you missed a great article – here it is. This new one shows just how serious the company is about that idea. It created an online recruiting poster asking Chinese designers and no-designers to submit their ideas for a Chinese-conceived Tesla until February 1, 2020. Apart from that, it shows what this vehicle could look like. What do you think about it?

Looks like a slick little Infiniti. Not bad at all.
But it's clear Tesla has realized that their survival depends on sales for smaller sedans, SUVs, hatches. This sis something the major luxury brands had realized 10-15 years ago. Profits from the smaller sedans & SUVs will pay for R&D for their flagship models. They have moved to build more production facilities to meet demand.

I think they are going to go for an entry-level car for the Chinese model. Probably something between $25-29k. I would build a super compact SUV version of the Cybertruck. No paint or stamping costs, great for narrow roads and the Chinese countryside.

Looks like a stupidly cramped interior and ultra short wheelbase for the sake of achieving car show chopped top look. Seriously impracticable.

Tesla desperately needs styling that is not just a generic re-interpretation of a 2013 Fusion again and again.
