Carlos Ghosn Confided To Lawyer That Nissan Would Be Bankrupt In 2 To 3 Years

One can accuse Carlos Ghosn of many things, but not knowing how to run a car company isn’t one of them.

Not only did he accomplish the almost impossible task of turning Nissan’s fortunes around, but he also managed to make the Renault-Nissan Alliance work and even attract Mitsubishi under its orbit. He also pushed for a closer integration of Renault and Nissan and many believe that’s what ultimately led to his downfall.

Interesting to see if Nissan is gonna merge with Honda and what will come out of it

Ghosn mismanaged Nissan to hell and back. Quality plummeted. Design cratered. Brand identity took a dump. Product was allowed to get old and outdated. Infiniti was never made a priority. I he'll be dead once his terrorist buddies extract his money from him.

Nissan merging with Honda would be cataclysmic given that Honda is stumbling down the same path that Nissan did.

Ghosn should know. He kick started the process by taking the money.

Nissan was basically insolvent when he took over. He cut costs to the bone and created a bunch of product that sold based on price alone. It worked for a while, but then the house of cards started collapsing. Once it became clear he was going to try to place Nissan in Renault's control the Nissan senior management found a way to get rid of him.

Nissan's saving grace is their EV tech...that is about the only part of the enterprise that is worth anything. The Japanese government will eventually step in and facilitate mergers between the automakers once they start showing signs of instability.

All of the supposedly brilliant things this bastard did, Nissan could have done on their own via a bankruptcy reorganization. Japan would not have allowed Nissan to close shop. Ghosn did NOTHING. He needs to be hunted down like the criminal he is and dragged back to justice in Japan.
