Don't use private aircraft once you get rich or famous. It just isn't worth it.

The day the music died
John Denver
JFK Junior
Kobe

The list goes on.

Malarkey. JFK Jr. continued VFR in IFR conditions, as it appears for Kobe's pilot. The plane with Buddy Holly was over 60 years ago, can't be compared to modern aviation. The vast majority of GA accidents are pilots doing something they shouldn't, sometimes as basic as running out of fuel.

And yet it keeps happening. There is a list you can find on the web. It's crazy how many people die in private aircraft who are well known or wealthy.

Yep, GA is far more dangerous than commercial flight, although still safer than getting in a car and driving on public roads. But one of the reasons is whomever is paying for the flight (the pilot themselves or a charter customer) may feel pressured , real or imagined, that they have to reach their destination. That is why so many of them press into deteriorating weather when common sense would be telling you to turn around.

My job right now with the FAA is Quality Control. I research every incident or accident that occurs. I can't talk details, but so many pilots do something their brain should be shouting at them not to do. It's tough listening to the audio and knowing you're hearing the last words they say to anyone outside the aircraft.

Agreed. Aaliyah and her crew suffered the same fate when the pilot was pressured to fly with an overweight airplane.
