Just HOW MUCH Is The Difference In Size Between The Model 3 And Model Y?

The Model Y is shipping just next month, but for many prospective orderers, it’s still been tough to get an idea of exactly how big the car is going to be.

Thanks to some of Tesla’s product photos and Reddit user gundarx, we’re getting a clearer view than ever on just how much bigger the Model Y is than the Model 3.

Ungainly. This needed to be a real crossover.

similar to the Model X, it's a low-riding utility vehicle. but it's ride-height actual highlights the fact that its basically a Model 3 with a higher roofline - a tall Model 3 hatchback.

...anybody else getting old 3-er GT chills?

It's going to be roomy inside, especially with how the roof is designed with no cross beam.

Also, 315 miles of range. Despite the larger size in every dimension, it only loses 7 miles of range (2.2%) using the exact same powertrain. The Y is somehow more aerodynamic than the 3 and fewer parts are being used (less weight). If they executed what was stated in the past, they consolidated 70 components into a single piece as an example.

Yet all of that cannot remove the fact that it's ugly as sin for its proportions.

I think it looks pretty good in person, actually might look a bit better proportioned than the 3. I also like the chrome delete.

I don't find it ugly at all - Teslas don't have all the extraneous crap on them that most other cars do - looks clean and modern.
