Model S vs. Taycan: Did Porsche FINALLY CRACK The Tesla Magic?
We didn't set out to dangle the competition under Tesla's nose. The plan was merely to line up a Tesla Model S against a Porsche Taycan—the Tesla's first true challenger—to see if there's a new EV front-runner. But if you want to experience the most powerful Supercharger in the greater Los Angeles area, you're going to find yourself at SpaceX's Hawthorne headquarters, which is also home to Tesla's design studio.

Tesla won moron.

"Tesla wins this one largely on price, but the Model S's virtues stand on their own, too. Some spreadsheet fiddling suggests that the finishing order wouldn't have changed had we pitted the Tesla against the far slower $105,150 Taycan 4S. Given the Model S Performance comes at a $85,160 discount to the Taycan Turbo S, there's no question which is the better buy".

Obviously the 4S would have been crushed even harder.

Can you imagine what's going to happen when Taycan goes up against the Plaid Model S?

Your lilliputian brain is going to explode.

Enough said! Lololol!

Sorry - but a TRUE Premium Luxury Sports car is what the Porsche - Tesla needs another 50 years before it might reach that level. Just as Rolls once said its power of the engine was ADEQUATE - the Porsche is simply in a higher league than the Tesla - especially since they are not upgrading the Model S.

They can make all sorts of cars that can win performance trials - at the Premium Level that is meaningless. Neither of these will ever be an 812 Superfast even if the Superfast cannot match their acceleration or Top Speed. It is not about that at this level.

Tesla is cheap and the Porsche quality will beat it. Just like when BMW comes out with there fully electric 4 series gran coupe style vehicle, the fit and finish will be light years ahead of Tesla.
That is the part that will hurt Tesla the most.

Looking in the review, price aside, the Porsche dominated.

Check out Chris Harris and the Taycan. Incredible.

runninglogan1 good luck supporting a brand you cannot afford and not going to buy one anytime soon.

With the money I would definitely buy the Porsche Tacycan 4S and the real world range people are getting are very optimistic with the Turbo models at 265-285 miles or more. Don't get EPA testing method as its not as good as the european testing.

But then again I am a diehard ICE motor guy... Heading for the 2020 Audi RS7 aha.

It will be a no brainer with the plaid S, should be better across every metric (hopefully will have a new interior too).
