World Car Of The Year FINALISTS Have Been Announced! WHO Gets YOUR Pick?
For us, it's always interesting to see when the top automotive awards are distributed. Mostly because we find it entertaining.

That's because it almost seems a bit rigged. This is why with some accolades we consider them "the best awards money can buy."

Given that we test the same products, we know when a bogus award is given to a non-deserving winner. And, for us, it's annoying. That's because it isn't helping the average consumer. Frankly, it's insulting to the buying public.

That said, the World Car of the Year finalists have been announced. 10 vehicles are competing for the top honor. See below for the autos vying for the number one spot:

  • Hyundai Sonata
  • Kia Soul EV
  • Kia Telluride
  • Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
  • Mazda 3
  • Mazda CX-30
  • Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class
  • Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class
  • Volkswagen Golf
  • Volkswagen T-Cross

So, WHICH vehicle has YOUR vote? Who would YOU pick to win the World Car of the Year?

From that list, I'm going with the Kia Soul EV followed by the Telluride. May the best sponsor win.

Should be the Telluride but no way it wins.

100% agreed.

I think the Soul EV, Golf or GLB gets the "W."

Not a V-12 among them =- Not a single car among them that I would consider
None come close to my Maybach - much less the Phantom - but I find myself in the Ferrari More often than those two as well - and certainly NOTHING in that list comes close.

Maybe they should call it the riff raff vehicle of the year

Evoque, Telluride or Soul EV.

Did they combine Car and SUV of the year?

I think the Telluride takes it. It's really well done...for the money. However, if it was priced any higher to start, then it loses.

The GLB is actually pretty well executed, but it's not far of the price of the Telluride. So, the larger, more luxurious Telluride will be favored.

The CX-30 is just another questionably executed Mazda product. It's going to fail no different than Infiniti's QX30. Saw it next to a Clubman and it was smaller and pretty meek looking.
