If there's one thing I love, it's user submissions. Thanks to our ace in the hole in SoCal, Fred Khaz, we've got our hands on some excellent spy shots.

And they're up close and personal. Yes, the very best kind.

SPIED! Next-gen BMW M3

Spotted driving north on the 405 near Irvine, the all-new BMW M3 was camouflaged pretty well. But, any one who's been tracking the development of this vehicle would spot the stand out features.

That includes the lowered stance, larger wheel/tire package, cross-drilled rotors, quad-tipped exhaust and very masked "face," that's expected to be super controversial once it is unveiled. Oddly missing are the expected "power bulge" on the front hood and I can't quite make out if there's a trunk-mounted lip spoiler.

That said, we've got to ask: Do YOU like what you see so far? Or, are you just waiting to see how the new schnoz looks on the M3 and M4?

THere are two ways to look at that car - which is in reality not much of a change from other BMW styles of the past

1 - Either a car has a new design that really looks good and sells the car OR
2 - For and "M" machine - it is the capabilities of the machine that sell the product and changing the styling is secondary.

The problem is - these cars have reached levels of performance where the differences between generations are getting less and less (Now with new smaller Turbo engines too) At the same time - there is little to differentiate the older car from the newer one - why buy the newer one?

BMW cars are in the Premium Luxury class where conservative styling reigns supreme and changes in styling are few and far between - and the customers are often accustomed to that. However - for years - even with conservative styling - Mercedes was at least able to Style their different lines so you could easily identify between the levels from afar - BMW on the other hand has not done that as much.

If this is the LAST generation of ICE cars as the EV pushers are trying to say - THey will need something more than this.
