Tesla's Control Of The Battery Market Has Crippled The Rest Of The EV Industry
As more and more automakers begin the transition to electric vehicles, it is becoming increasingly apparent that Tesla’s intense focus on batteries was right all along. Tesla’s strategies have always been criticized and examined under a microscope, and the company’s decision to build Giga Nevada, a facility dedicated to battery production for the Model 3, was no exception. But as veteran automakers like Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz are now finding out, investing tons of effort and resources on batteries matters a lot.

LOL. Especially to those filled with hate and shorted the stock. BEV's are a long game and Tesla seems to be playing to win. Maybe the other firms will be battery customers one day.

If they are playing to win how come their cars have shoddy build quality and faulty engineering that kills people?

@MD- Back to your point about never having made a car before. Most automakers have made cars that have killed people. It seems to be par for the course. Shameful and wrong but still commonplace. Autopilot in any vehicle is a BETA program. I would not use it. Laser Cruise control that can take you from 100-0-100 should be enough for anyone in bumper to bumper traffic.

Others are stepping up their investments as well. Toyota and Panasonic have announced a joint venture, and LG is working with VW, GM and Ford. Tesla has a 10 year head-start, but others will catch up.

Tell yourself "VW consistently is above FORD in reliability and dependability" because nothing about their technology is advanced.

You're so laughably impotent. Is that supposed to hurt my feelings? It doesn't. You're just words on a screen.

All it takes is advancement of battery technology to change the whole landscape

Going to be a big year for batteries, can't wait to see what's coming. I wouldn't be shocked to see a 30% improvement in densities this year (which can be 30% more range, 30% less cost, or any combination of the two).

I will say this about Elon Musk; Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Good strategy by Elon.

I'll say it again: Tesla is years ahead of the competition.

Contrary to what Saul Alinsky's wrote and what his Alt-Left sheeple believe, repeating a lie often enough does not make it a truth.
