CONFIRMED! President Trump And FLOTUS WILL Be Doing A Lap At The Daytona 500 In
Well, today just got a lot more interesting.

That's because President Trump and the first lady, Melania, will be making an appearance at today's Daytona 500 in Florida. But, they're not just going to be spectators.

POTUS and FLOTUS are actually going to do a lap on the track. Although most VIPs would hop in a sports car and go for a ride, well, things are a bit different when you're the world's foremost leader.

The Trumps will be using their highly armored Cadillac limo, known as "The Beast," to take a lap around the Daytona International Speedway. Yes, you read that correctly.

While I hope the ride goes smoothly, I can't help but wonder if the armored vehicle will be able to do it safely. You have to consider the banks as well as the fact this is probably the world's most extensively armored vehicle. You're not even supposed to take tight turns in these things as they may tip over. We're thinking speeds will be kept to an absolute minimum.

President Trump’s appearance at the Daytona 500 on Sunday may feature a guest appearance from the presidential limousine known as “The Beast.”

Trump is planning to take a lap around the track at Daytona International Speedway prior to the venerable NASCAR event, Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts reported on Friday, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. Plans have not yet been finalized.

NASCAR named Trump the grand marshal of the Daytona 500, marking the first time a sitting president has held the honor. He is the latest of several presidents to visit the historic race...

A-For Effort @jeffgall

But the waste will remain for generations. And call me what you will -

-I, like people in 32 other developed countries, have Universal Healthcare
-Responsible gun laws and ownership restrictions
-GMO free food that is plentiful and easy to buy
-A political system that isn't gerry-rigged in favour of one party
-A political system run by Elections Canada a Federal Agency so it's trusted
-A system that ensures it is easy for everyone to vote
-Aren't being laughed at (daily) by the rest of the world
-Still junior hockey world champions (2020) beating Russia (not our friends)

But do keep trying...

How many $$$ Millions in taxpayer money is this stunt going to cost us? Probably not enough for those that pretend to care about the government spending money to care. Spending all the money our country has is worth it I guess just to own the Libs.

All presidents' outings cost money and lots of it.

I agree the motivations behind this particular stunt are troll-adjacent at best, but you could plausibly argue it's part of a good-will or publicity tour, just like any president would do.

Really, it's Trump's history that makes me question his motives.

A president doing something for publicity or costing a lot of money, in and of itself, is not unusual.

Never ever ever underestimate the appeal of "owning the Libs".

It doesn't really matter whether Trump is helping his voters or saying things that make sense or is doing things that are good for the country. He's speaking to what his people feel. He doesn't even have to accomplish the things that his supporters like about him. Just the fact that someone is saying things they like to hear is enough for them. To them, saying something that feels true is more important than something actually being true. You see this phenomenon on the left as well, and it manifests itself in slightly different ways; but Trump supporters are unique in that they really only care about his attitude, even if it comes at their own expense.

Trump is a master troll, and his basest supports are very skilled as well. They are excellent at what they do, and they enjoy it. They know exactly where to hit "the Lib-tards" to trigger them. This stunt is an example of Trump's peerless ability to tap in to that and execute at the highest level. A visual display of power, NASCAR, and a large polluting wasteful automobile (at least in the context of the oval), you could not ask for a more well-stacked and arranged combination of troll tools

It doesn't matter whether this wastes money, is a useless display of showmanship, harms the environment, or anything else. It's top-tier trolling literally at the highest levels of office in the United States, and that's all it really needs to be. At the end of the day, for these people "owning the Libs" is the most important thing, and Trump is performing like a virtuoso.

It's off topic from cars but okay.

Obama f-ed up on that one, no argument there. Then he came out, apologized, and made changes to the policy. There was even a small press conference where he addressed it.

He said something that was wrong, albeit unintentionally but still affecting lots of people in important ways. He deserves the blame for that, but also the credit of trying to course correct.

You can certainly argue that he didn't do enough, or that he was ineffectual in trying to remedy the problem that was partially of his own making, but it wasn't an outright lie on his part made with the intention to deceive.

I question whether any "facts" would change your mind; however, I'll bite. What sort of "genuine facts" would convince you that Trump and his most core base supports enjoy trolling the "Lib-tards" more than anything? Do such facts exist?

Curiosity, I guess.

I don't interact with people like these very often in my day-to-day life.

I wonder if this is what these people are like in real life, or just on the internet. Do they talk to their coworkers like this? Other people at the store or on the street? What occurs in their minds to cause them to speak and react in the way that they do?

I understand people have disagreements, but usually the people in my life can have them thoughtfully. It's just a strange fascination I guess to see grown adults act in this way.
