Kia Continues Quest To Become The Korean BMW With New Performance EV

An all-electric Kia based on the company’s Imagine concept is being developed with the help of Rimac.

The electric Kia in question is tipped to arrive in the form of a sedan-crossover that slots above the current e-Niro and Soul EV models in the South Korean manufacturer’s arsenal. What promises to make this vehicle particularly interesting is that it will have “super-high performance,” according to Kia marketing chief Carlos Lahoz.

The rear end looks much nicer here than in the teaser, thank God.

The face needs rethinking.

This looks like a replacement for the Stinger, Credenza, and the Canine, which is a smart move.

I hope that is the style they like in Korea - because Kia is not just attempting to move upmarket here - they are pricing their Hyundai based product that way - and most doesn't move without HUGE discounts. My local Kia Dealer has changed hands now 7 times in the last 4 years. I would not trust them to be there for the warranty period.

THis is a great example of an attempt to move upmarket without the pedigree of a real premium brand - that is failing.

Tom stop farting.

Hyundais and Kias transact with no deeper incentivization than with other brands and with multiple brands in the group I can assure you of that.

Kia made a major leap with the Stinger which did not need to be a massive success in order to get the job done. The Telluride is the proof. They sell at full price and fully loaded very easily.

The new Sorrento looks amazing. Kia is definitely gunning for an Acura position.

Love this design. Both the front and rear are modern, bold and distinctive...which means all the whiners will say they hate it, as they always do whenever something unique is offered.

Why don't they change their name and logo to IKA
