Jaguar Land Rover Shocks The World With A.... Self Driving Toaster?

Jaguar Land Rover has shocked the world of future motoring by unveiling an entirely new, fully engineered electric car platform that's capable of supporting a wide variety of autonomous, shared and private vehicle configurations.

Work on the project, which is entirely separate from JLR’s current or near-future production car range, is already so far advanced that a multi-use autonomy-ready vehicle, claimed to offer unparalleled interior space and flexibility, will begin road trials in Coventry late next year. City and West Midlands authorities have already agreed to cooperate, viewing the project as “a living laboratory for future mobility”.

They next Jaguar should be an XJ that looks like an old-school XJ but it (1) an EV and (2) replaces the XF and XJ ICE sedans.

Jaguar is not going back to that old 1960' shape. Retro works for Mustang, but not for this brand. It has to look to the future.

They might have gone a bit too far, we're not ready for pod cars yet. It's pretty depressing looking, they should have at least made the prototype luxurious.

I want a retro e-type convertible EV with modern tech.

maybe they're trying to appeal to the taxi/livery services on a global scale.

they want to get these general EV people-movers in major cities & at as many airports and tourist hot-spots.
