DRIVEN + VIDEO: So, The Hyundai Sonata ISN'T Easy On The Eyes, BUT Does It Deliver The GOODS?
When it comes to all-new vehicles, there are some seriously great looking products being turned out. Although taste is subjective, sometimes certain automotive designs are universally adored.

On the flip side, we've seen our fair share of stinkers too.

While the all-new Hyundai Sonata isn't a total disaster, it definitely isn't one of those designs that makes most people say "I need one in my driveway, now." In fact, it's objectively off putting. That's OK though, controversy can be good. Sometimes.

What really counts is its price, how it's equipped and how it drives. If it makes a strong case against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Honda Accord, the all-new Sonata may just give the majors some serious trouble.

We know Hyundai can do it. It deeply unsettled the Japanese automakers previously. But can it deliver the goods, again?

See Doug DeMuro's take, below.

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is surprisingly quirky. Today I'm reviewing the new 2020 Sonata and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the new Sonata. I'm also going to show you around the Hyundai Sonata and review the driving experience of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata.

In person it's quite easy on the eyes. It's not good in pictures, but not gonna listen to the mama's boy.

Will have to see for myself!

Interior looks pretty slick...

I have seen 2 on the road this week. It is just as bad in person, I think the rear is even worse.

It’s too bad because the side profile in the above image is quite good.

I actually like the exterior design, the headlights are really unique. I still like the previous model a bit more, but this looks better than other cars in the price range.

What I don't understand is how the premium motor has LESS horsepower than the base one. It's neither more efficient, nor significantly faster (has a bit more torque but not enough to make a difference). Matt, maybe you can explain this one along with what happened to the great 2.0T motor?

It has some pretty amazing technology for a mid priced sedan. Move your car back and forth like the 7-Series BMW can with just a button on the fob. Not sure how useful, but cool to see. Like entry level cars with heated seats and steering wheels. Amazing it took so long for these features to trickle down.

Ugly car but...these lyrics apply to the new Hyundai Sonata:
If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

Not ugly. Not attractive. Probably on par with the Accord where it has attractive qualities and ugly qualities. Though the Accord Sport with PLatinum grille in White looks the best in segment to me.

Interior is nice but is a direct rip from the G70, which may cause some blurred lines between the two brands. I like the Accord interior maybe a bit more because it feels more spacious based on how it's laid out.

I've seen it in person and completely dislike the grill. It just looks a bit off to me. I was disappointed that Hyundai did not quite nail the suspension right considering what they did to the Hyundai Veloster. Its a decent car and perhaps with the N version coming any suspension shortcomings will be better addressed.
