Ever since the formation of NASCAR in 1948, stock car racing has been known for its wild cars, incredible top speeds, and thundering V8s barreling down tracks such as Talladega, Daytona, and Dover. But that might all change, if the industry and association decides to embrace hybrid tech in its future race car designs. I think that most people who watch "stock car" racing would actually prefer "stock cars" be used with all the needed safety gear if that is possible. Soap bars with slightly different noses really doesn't have a lot of appeal or do a favour for branding.

Why not have a separate cup for that under the NASCAR umbrella, just like trucks?
