Toyota Prepares Assault Of Performance Cars Across The Lineup

Given the lackluster GT86 and the complete miss with the Supra, Toyota and performance will remain oxymoronic.

The Supra is as small as the GT6--the latter has the longer wheelbase--but it costs double. How stupid is that?

Do a new MR2 for $25K base.

Enlarge the GT86's footprint, ditch the Subaru everything, and make a Celica.

Reposition the Supra as a Mustang GT/Shelby competitor.

Add in a Corolla "GTI" on the hatchback and a "GLI" on the sedan.

Toyota is learning that the average age of their owners is Advancing - while it is not particularly young to begin with. So they have to try something to get new Blood into their showrooms. But it is not going to work - people simply do not care to be seen in a Toyota Corolla Performance Variant.
