Green Groups Silent As Trump's US Leads World In CO2 Emission Reduction In 2019

Under President Trump, the United States led the world in reducing carbon-dioxide emissions in 2019, but don’t expect Greta Thunberg to give him a hug any time soon.

International Energy Agency data released earlier this month showing that U.S. emissions dropped by 2.9% last year failed to make an impression with Democrats, environmentalists and climate activists, who either shrugged off the data or argued that Mr. Trump’s climate-denialism was somehow thwarted.

Just curious - what specific actions did Trump take to achieve these results?

LMAO they mean Obama’s US leads world in reduction, Trump’s policies haven’t been in effect for a year, he only proposed rollbacks last year on Obama’s standards

HILARIOUS

Everyone thinks Trump is an anti environmentalist. It is isn't true or else the US would have not lowered C02 emissions at all.

As with most Trump stories it’s only partially true. US is also the biggest producer of CO2. Per Snopes....

The biggest producer of CO2 is China it’s not even close with India rapidly catching up.

carlos: what specific actions (that is plural) are Tesla taking to reduce their carbon foot print in the mfg of cars and batteries. Mining for lithium is a nasty business.

I don't expect any tree huger to give Trump a thumbs up.

The batteries today are mostly Nickel, not Lithium. Also the Chinese batteries for the standard Model 3/Y will drop Cobalt altogether.

The biggest thing that Tesla can do to improve the impact of batteries is use fewer batteries per car by making them more efficient, and they have been doing that for years. Tesla has the most efficient midsized car and SUV right now. What they can do with 75 kWh is more than what competitors are doing with 100 kWh.

Also, batteries can be turned into grid storage when they have degraded past an acceptable amount for EVs (other companies are doing this too).

Tauron: C02 is in your blood. So you and me produce it. If you don't like it, you can reduce your share by not breathing. Let the world know how that works out for you...if you can

What does that have to do with the story? Did you just have to have something to say or what? I’d this your day to have the brain? What’s your issue? I gave you proof... as with most Trumpettes you answer truth with bs.
But I should know better this is a pro trump site so .yeah it’s my fault I pointed out the BS.

IF president Trump cured cancer the imbecile, hateful, psychotic liberals would find fault. They are truly unhappy and very mad, mean people.

We all know he couldn't cure a ham, let alone cancer.

How do you listen to him talk and take him seriously? The Democratic options aren't fantastic either, but damn...

Leaning towards Bloomberg at this point since Yang dropped out.

What everyone seems to be missing was Trump’s reasoning for pulling out of the Paris Accord.

The USA will and is reducing its CO2 on its own. It doesn’t need to pay Billions of dollars to another wasteful corrupt International agency where other countries commit lip service to their non-binding part of the Accord while siphoning off money from USA taxpayers

It’s called fracking, nat gas has replaced much of the coal generation that was lost, which is a much cleaner burn. Remember the previous administration was trying to ban fracking, instead pushing solar through companies such as solyndra.

Trump and the King of Saudi Arabia go fishing. The king drops his pole and his entourage tries to get it, but to no avail. Trump says "wait, I'll get it." So he walks off the boat onto the ocean and fetches the pole. In the evening, CNN, MSNBC, CANANDIANCOMMENTS, SanJoseDriver, and runbuh report (the latter three on AutoSpies) that Trump can't swim.

Certainly if you bother to actually read the story it is a lot more complicated than "Under President Trump, the United States led the world in reducing carbon-dioxide emissions in 2019, but don’t expect Greta Thunberg to give him a hug any time soon." There are no actions cited by the Trump administration that lowered greenhouse gases and overall we have been on a reduction curve since 2005 due to more renewables and switching from coal to natural gas. The actual policies the Trump administration is pushing would likely drive those numbers up with the return to coal and energy intensive manufacturing.

Wrong Trump is pushing a market based energy production, instead of shutting down coal production he’s allowing to continue to sell into the market. That market in the USA has been replaced by Natural Gas through fracking, however the market for coal still exists in China and India. The Trump administration is pushing EU members to buy fracking produced LNG undercutting Russia.

Yea they get that government land on cheap leases, mine the coal, extract the oil/natural gas and make zillions, essentially subsidizing it on taxpayer owned land/minerals.

Anything that President Trump does that is “good” usually is not being reported or reworked to the previous administration’s efforts! LOL! President Trump get no credit for anything good that is happening in his administration!
