The vehicle has been received to mixed reviews as the public is divided on the design, but it undoubtedly attracted a lot of attention and reservations.

Aston Martin had the same stupid-looking idea 40 years ago.

For $40K? I might even get one. I have been looking for a 3rd vehicle, something to have fun with. I have been thinking anything from a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to a GTI and this cybertruck might get on the list since its around the same price.

From the Article,

"Tesla stopped updating its reservation tally, but other crowdsourced estimated counts put the total between 450,000 and 500,000 Cybertruck reservations."

So basically, we just make shit up.

This is the Hummer of the 20's - Huge, impractical and a Jejune fashion statement.

Impractical how? It's designed to benchmark against an F150 (maybe even a F250), which is a practical car. It has 100 cubic feet of lockable storage space, a bed, and seats 6 adults. Cost of ownership is low, doesn't have to be painted, and it has the greatest ground clearance of any standard truck for some offroad fun. Sounds practical to me.

You know, I wonder what it would take to make it actually work on mars? Obviously different tires, maybe the battery packaging would need to be reinforced... but you know it might not really take a lot. You may be on to something here, maybe they really are going to mars :)

Mars? Only thing Musk is putting on mars is people's imaginations.
