SPIED + RENDERED: NEW Images Of The Next-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee Have Us PUMPED For What's To Come...
Although the current-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee is becoming quite dated, I must admit one thing. I still really like it.

From the engines to the styling, I do find it to be a good sport-utility vehicle. It's just that the once class-leading product has been met, and exceeded, by its competition.

As we've been awaiting further details about the next-gen Grand Cherokee, something BIG finally came through. Thanks to the folks at AllCarNews, they've unearthed some spy shots and an interior render to bring it to life.

If the info and render are something to take to the bank, boy, we're starting to get a bit excited about what's coming down the 'pike.

Take a peek below and let us know what you think!

UPDATE: 2021 Grand Cherokee ?? ???????????? ????????? ______________________________________ ???????????? [3/9/20] Sit back and relax as this is about to get SPICY! The 2021 Grand Cherokee (WL) is going to be MAJOR with everything all new. This WL GC will be the first FCA product outside Alfa Romeo to be underpinned with the Giorgio RWD architecture that was co-developed with Ferrari. The 2021 GC will have things like a much stiffer and lighter chassis with a near 50/50 weight distribution in some trims. This is huge for off roading with a super strong aluminum heavy unibody. ???????????? ???????????? ???????????? ????????? ?? @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: The powertrains are going to shock people too. At first, we will see the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with e-Torque and an optional 5.7L HEMI V8 with e-torque from the RAM 1500. For 2023 model year, the all new Turbocharged e-boost Inline-6 will debut killing off the Pentastar V6. There also will be a 2.0L e-torque turbo 4 on offer with around 270HP and 295 lb-ft of torque. And then the PHEV model will come late 2021. ?? ???????????? ???????????? ??????????? The new GC will get a next generation 4x4 system too with optional QuadraLift air suspension, lower crawl ratios, better approach and departure angles and more capability than ever. Design wise, I can only speak from people who saw it and have described their sight. Expect a more boxy SUV look than currently with the 7 slot grille, narrow LED lights and a taller windshield. Inside is going to be class leading, just like what RAM did with the 1500. Premium materials, new 10.1in Uconnect system, panoramic roof, new woods, leathers and more! ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: Stay tuned for more updates! ________________________________________ -Text by @allcarnews -Images by Moparinsiders and more! My reservation is that it's moving to the Giorgio platform which comes with a rather "buggy" electrical system courtesy of the Italian idiots.

The current GC is selling stronger than ever... this new one better be fantastic or they're screwing up a golden goose. The current is better than alot of recently launched vehicles (especially GM vehicles) and there is no question its a Jeep...

Yeah, I do not know why they are redesigning the Grand Cherokee when sales are still so strong. FCA could potential have the same problems as the new Explorer.

Are you lost on the fact it's 10 years old upon EOP? Wake up, it needs to be redesigned and they're ready to do it.

not lost Dip$&*t its a huge seller that is increasing in sales... that is a real big deal... messing with it is significant and risky...

Who competes with it? It has a unique spot in the market. To get what the Summit delivers the Germans charge $20K more, as does the Aviator. Ford screwed up the Explorer.

I wasn't responding to you genius (or lack thereof). FCA would sooner prefer to shed the DaimlerChrysler origins of the WK2, than wait for it to grow too stale.

Secondly, it is much better to deliver a new WL now, to make room for other incoming products requiring attention (Challenger/Charger, Wagoneers, Durango, other crossovers, etc).

It's plainly illogical to keep this in production any longer than a decade and struggle to retool for a later redesign among many others in planning.

Hey genius, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger and Jeep GC keep this company in business... they're all former Mercedes platforms and they continue to sell in strong numbers... Whats illogical is discontinuing a product you can update that continues to find strong acceptance in the market. THere is no question if they have a superior product ready to replace it but again, I'd buy a new GC over any GM CUV, VW CUV, and many others. Its a terrific product, and only increases Jeeps legacy. But thanks for the comment... now don't you need to study for your exams or are you on spring break?

What's illogical is how long the Giulia has been out and it has not yet been reskinned as a Charger and a Challenger.

What's illogical is how long the Stelvio has been out and it has not yet been reskinned as a Cherokee or a Journey.

FCA is dumb as bricks on product development.

There's no need to launch a new model every 7 years when the current one is fantastic. Jeep should follow Toyota's practices: keep current models for 10+ years and save money in developing a new one.

THe problem is - THe Grand Cherokee is one of the CASH COWS of FCA
FCA and now FCA/PSA cannot afford to get caught Flat footed - even in a major recession like this one starting

The Land Crapper is more than 20 years old under the styling.

I don't believe you can even prove that theory against the 200 Series, so it's purely fiction. (Same person who claims that the Land Cruiser hasn't changed underneath since 1996...)

Because in that case, the S-Class is a 14 year vehicle, which is almost as ludicrous.

"I don't believe you can even prove that theory against the 200 Series"

I can and it's extremely easy to prove.

The incorrigble, knuckle dragging jughead that you are, repeatedly exhibits no lick of comprehension in regards to how efficient product planning and SOUND business cases are executed. They're way behind already, as the WL was locked in back in 2016, on deck for MY 2020. Time to move on ASAP with not just GC, but EVERYTHING pre-2015!

Retaining the WK2 is no discussion to be even had at this point. Lay off the drugs, as you clearly don't get it. This company would be owned wholly by China if you were anywhere near the executive board. The public can turn fickle very quickly on dated products.

Now, as for exams...over what? You must be doing meth again and ODing, considering that my undergrad was ages ago for that matter, as someone who has worked for Toyota, JLR, and Ford amongst other entities over the past decade in various engineering capacities.

In fact, I'd think I have more than enough field experience and knowledge, being that my BSME from NYIT, MBA from Warwick (while at JLR), and PhD in AE have spoken well enough for my capabilities as an engineer and body on frame programs product leader compared to whatever expert lush you seem to be, living it up on Auto Spies 24/7. I don't even live here.

Maybe you need to log off for once, head to your local community college (glorified HS) and get some credits to your name in some tech BS whatever class? With time, maybe you can do something productive with your life for once? Hopefully indeed. ;)

From my vast experience, I know a hellion of people at FCA and the global auto industry at large compared to the vast majority of degenerates logging onto this site to troll, so please take your ignorant drivel elsewhere. I'm no longer entertaining it jugrat.

Yours truly,
Dr. James N. "Carmaker1"
