CAR WARS! FLAGSHIP Edition: Audi S8 vs. BMW M760i — WHO Did It Better?
Although I know the world has shifted away from sedans as buyers seek large sport-utility vehicles, I still have a thing for sedans. Call me an old man, I just happen to like the way the latest sedans drive.

They can do the sporty and luxury thing very well.

And if you're not sold on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class then what are you supposed to do? That's where the M760i and S8 come into the picture.

In this head-to-head, see where two of the top German executive sedans shake out. Then, let us know WHICH you'd prefer.

Would YOU have the M760i or the S8?

This week James and Thomas try out the brand new 2020 Audi S8, and test it alongside the most expensive BMW you can buy, the M760i. They are both all wheel drive monstrously powerful executive sedans! Let's see which one comes out on top...

S8. Much more advanced and a better price to boot.

Audi S8 is by far the better package.

I don't know which Manufacturer has a worse record on reliability right now. THere was a time BMW was a well engineered and constructed car - I hope they eventually return to those times. Audi has never been anything but a Money Pit - with repairs being incredibly expensive. But the fact is - neither of these two - at least in the US - have the presence of an S class - and certainly not even close to a Maybach.

Now that neither have a v-12 - and at least Maybach still does , I would prefer the Mercedes by a LOT. Now that VW has shelved the Mulsanne - and the Rolls suffers from some "cheap" BMW parts - in the rice doesn't matter category - while the ROLLS is still the Ultimate - the S-650 is a blink behind but Having BOTH takes care of that. I am allergic to WOOL and you will never guess how much it cost just to change the rugs out in my Rolls.! But for driving - it remains the Maybach for me.

Of those two losers, I'd take the 7 Series. The Audi begs the question: Is that A3/4/6/7/8?.

The S Class is the best in its class, but I'd argue after it to drop down to the G90, LS, and Continental as the next consideration. The 7 Series is its worst yet and the Audi is more boring than boring.

In this test, they were pretty equal. Not sure which I'd pick between these two, but overall, I'd choose an S63.

Wouldn’t trust either one for a cross country trip, or to the country club a year later.

I think my opinion is pretty clear, since I voted with my dollars.

For my money, I prefer the 7-Series. The Audi was a close second for me, but there was too much gloss plastic inside to sway me on the interior, the infotainment was a question mark for me, and I was only lukewarm on the exterior design.

Against the S63, the 7 is going to handle better and for a car like this, that matters.

Most of the deciding factors really come down to taste though, whether you prefer this styling or that styling, etc.
