What If Mini Made A Mid-Engine EV Sports Car?

Could Mini be looking at a move into the mid-engine world? That’s quite a step for a brand synonymous with small, nimble, front-wheel-drive hatchbacks that can almost fit into your pocket. On the other hand, small and nimble are attributes synonymous with mid-engine cars, so perhaps it’s not such a crazy idea. In fact, some might say it’s long overdue.

It's time for BMW to pull the plug on Mini or to reduce it to the Cooper in ICE and EV forms and sell it through BMW dealers.

Totally agree on the last point. Part of the problem with Mini is the lack of dealerships and service centers making it in an inconvenient choice for many would-be buyers.

I think BMW has about 3x as many dealerships and is thus 3x more accessible.

Mid engine does not make sense for Mini even if it is an EV. I think they should make the Superleggera in rwd and awd EV form. https://www.mini.com/en_MS/home/automotive/concept-vehicles/superleggera.html

Indeed. What would be the point of having the motor mid chassis?
