Paint Issues Already Surfacing On New Tesla Model Y Deliveries - How Is This Acceptable?

The Tesla Model Y emerged under huge expectations. It would have advanced manufacturing methods. It was also supposed to be the car with the least wiring harnesses ever made. When it was finally released, we discovered it is the first Tesla with a heat pump. Paint must also be better, right? According to this Chicago Auto Pros YouTube channel video, that’s not the case.

We have already talked about this, and it is always worth mentioning: Engineers avoid buying cars that just started being manufactured. The dynamic of this process is that they improve a lot with time, which makes cars after three or four years in production much better than the first ones out of the assembly lines.

What? I thought SanJose said that quality is so high at Tesla that Toyota and Mercedes are in the fetal position crying in the corner.

If you watch the video he is telling everyone to ask the dealer to deliver the car as is with no corrections and take it to a detailer for the first wash and corrections. Some bias there, but obviously those are way more issues than there should be. I'm more concerned about the interior stuff than the paint. I'm not sure how many people will notice the specs of dust in the paint, especially if their car isn't 100% washed all the time.

While it's a great concept, Tesla vehicles have crap interiors and shoddy manufacturing. Go check out the Tesla forums for a long litany of complaints about poor panel fit, mechanical breakdowns, and lack of parts. Now we can add crappy paint to the list. No thanks.

All for manufacturing in USA, but quality like this is pathetic
