WATCH: Would A Front-Engined Corvette Have Been Better Looking?
By almost all accounts the team over at Chevrolet has done a remarkable job with the new 2020 C8 Corvette.  Taking an American icon like this and transforming into a word class sports car is no easy task especially when you consider moving the engine from the front to the middle.

But did they have to go through all of that effort? Would it have looked anything as aggressive as what we have now?

His result is far better looking if not necessarily perfect. It's really difficult for mid-engined cars to have graceful proportions and nearly all look horrible from behind. The busy side of the C8 is very Aztek ugly.

The Miura is one of the few mid-engined designs that is truly magnificent all round and from every angle.

The Porsche 914 allowed the awkwardness of a mid-engine platform to be a quirky detail and in an odd way it works from all angles. The Cayman isn't terrible.

The Testarossa did a good job of mitigating the ugliness of the ass end.
