Is it entirely fair, then, you may wonder, to pitch the ‘new’, range-topping R version of this car into a head-to-head contest with the only-a-year-old 992-generation Porsche 911? Knowing what we already do about the latter.

So if you had to pick one of these cars just to use as personal transport for an undefined period of time, without a thought given to how much fun you might have in the process, I’m not totally convinced the Porsche would be the automatic choice.

After 50k mi, let's see which one has fewer issues the 911 or the F type. My money is on the P car.

So true. The Jaguar will cost less because they sit incessantly on the lots not selling so massive price reductions are the norm, but it's just not worth it.

Although it is a brick. A demo or CPO Acura NSX will be the most livable and reliable of the options presented. Although local service has always been an issue when it comes to getting an exotic car our town must have hit a metric as we now have a new 50,000 sqft Porsche Dealership opening in November. I bet they are hoping this COVID-19 issue is done by then.

We've done some XJ6 and XJS conversions to LS7 V8s with a better transmission.

Jaguar should be using Ford engines, transmissions and wiring harnesses these days.
