Ferraris And A Bar - What Else Do You Need In A Dream Garage?

Ferraris And A Bar - What Else Do You Need In A Dream Garage?
Every gearhead spends plenty of fruitless hours daydreaming about the exact cars they'd have in their garage if money were no object. From lineups of classic and vintage sports cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO and Lamborghini Miura to today's ridiculously overpowered super-pickups like the Ford Raptor or Dodge Ram SRT-10, the wide world of wonderful automotive products has something for everyone. But sadly, most lovers of the internal combustion engine (and EVs, too!) have to settle with owning just one or two cars that they struggle to keep running properly.

Mine's nowhere near that elaborate, but my garage is designed to look like a guest house from a distance. It's actually a metal structure with a very clever facade.

I don't drink alcohol - so I can live without the Bar. However - if you commute in any major metro area - traffic being what it is - just a Ferrari would simply be a waste. You actually need a smooth riding car - mid-size or larger - to commute in and still have something left of your lower back when you get there. However - I also need a utility vehicle - that I can put a sheet of Plywood in - or a hoard of Grandchildren - so Mine is a Mini-Van - yours might be an SUV.

And if your commuting car is a Maybach - then the Only Sunday on the Town car left is the Phantom. I suppose you could get away with just the Maybach for both though.

Odd spot to put the uber video game setup. I guess his wife did not want it in the house. Seems out of place. He should have build a 2nd level with a lounge and a big tv with a pool table.

Great job on the exterior styling as it looks more house than monster man cave. If you have cars that nice I think they should be incorporated into your house for maximum viewing pleasure with shock collars given to grandkids or toddlers just to be safe and keep them away from the automotive art assets...I could stare with lust and appreciation everyday at a 250 GTO or E-Type in my living room.

All you really need is an Eichler-style house.

I would add a living room area in the garage with couches and leather arm chairs so I can admire my cars while I watch TV

Even with unlimited cash, I can't see the sense in having a huge number of cars. You can only drive one at a time, there's only so many hours in a day, and most of the time there's more important things I can do with my life. Would have a few? Sure. But nothing that even approaches what some of these cars would cost.

One of my tasks over the past 6 years has been selling down three car collections each of which was in excess of 20 cars. Aside from the cost of storing them is the cost of maintenance. Jay Leno is amazing, but the only real purpose in a large collection would be to make money off it as an attraction.

Serious high end collectors are not interested in the revenue generation as an attraction. Their overwhelming reason for publicly displaying their collection is the preservation of their lifetime passion. For tax and inheritance purposes they form foundations to keep the collections together. Look no further than Fred Simione or Miles Collier the #1 and #2 collectors in the world, go down the list of The Key in the Classic Car Trust. BTW Leno isn’t in the top 50.

And when it is all said and done, it's a pointless avocation to have that many.

3-phase power, great lighting, and a LONG list of woodworking/metalworking equipment.
