WATCH: Telsa Offers A Peek Inside The High Tech Shanghai Gigafactory

Tesla has released a video with an impressive look inside Gigafactory Shanghai, which is currently Tesla’s only vehicle factory in operation.

The timing of Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai couldn’t have been better for the automaker.

Not only did they manage to build the entire factory and start production within about a year, but the production also started before Tesla was forced to shut down Fremont factory due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Im still shocked they made this plant in Shanghai as that is some of the most expensive real estate in mainland China rather down in Ningbo or Guangzhou or where industrial land is far more cheaper and big population base for worker bees. Maybe there is a tourist twist here or sales incentive with this location that Im not grasping?

There is certainly more going on here than meets the eye. The Chinese Government definitely picked that spot. A showcase of their openness and willingness to allow foreign investment and ownership of new businesses. They want others to see it clearly and have it be a success too so it will attract other firms. That is the only explanation that make sense.
