Automotive Sector Restart Depends On Canadian And Mexican Timetables
As President Donald Trump and his economic advisers look to start reopening the U.S. economy in May, a central question is emerging for companies with supply chains stretching across North America: What if Mexico and Canada don’t have the same timetable in mind?

Manufacturers in sectors ranging from chemicals to electronics have suppliers across the continent’s national borders.

If Canada and Mexico don't have the same timetable, it's very clear how you handle it. You put a massive import tax on agriculture and spirits coming from Mexico. For Canada, you put a value added tax on exports. In both cases the tax needs to be high enough that it's an economic threat to countries. The tails do not wag the dogs. Mexico is useful to us, but Canada is a puss-filled mess.

Fuck you are stupid and obviously don't understand economics or global supply chains very much or your stirring the pot looking for a fight. Think Murica can be all self sufficient because she can't. Most of your manufactured goods are reliant upon the raw minerals or natural resources of Canuckistan and subsequently the Beaners for cheap produce, cheap labor and subassemblies. The fact is all our economies are so intertwined that any disruptions in any of the 3 Amigos creates havoc for all. Just as we all are dependent on China for 95% of our antibiotics and other vital meds. This globalization too has to stop and the Covid thing was a great wake up call for us all to get our shit together going forward.

Incorrect. It's time for the USA to be absolutely vicious economically.

Indeed. The economies are so interconnect with trade that you can't just go it alone. Canada is not opening up things for weeks, possibly until mid May if not beyond it. We have not seen the backside of the curve in Coronavirus cases yet. Time will tell where this all goes.

But reminding the tails (Mexico and Canada) who wags them...that we most decidedly can do. Mexico, historically has been a better ally than Canada, and that's saying something.
