Elon Musk Says New Cybertruck Will Be Able To Wade Streams Like A Boat

Tesla Cybertruck is going to be “able to float for a while,” says CEO Elon Musk, who apparently can’t wait to bring the electric pickup truck to production.

For a while now, Elon Musk has cautiously boasted about the ability of Tesla vehicles to float, or even “act as a boat” for short periods of time.

A few years ago, we posted about a Tesla Model S driving (or swimming) through a flooded tunnel. Musk commented:

This will be fun as the Tesla morons float their Cybertrucks without considering that once it's floating they have no control over its direction.

I do believe this as long as the stream has no water in it. Someone forgot to tell Elon that water and electricity don't mix.

And if the stream has no water in it...that was caused by global warming... no wait ... global cooling... no wait... climate change

The entire powertrain is waterproof. You can even charge the car outside in rainstorm... no issue at all.

Cool. Another clever Tesla comment section circle jerk. All by the same guys predicting Tesla's imminent bankruptcy 2 years ago.

Or better yet, don't try to turn your car into a boat... not worth the risk. Teslas have survived floods with little damage, still probably not the best ideas to try and float your card down the river like a $60k paddleboat.
