Can You GUESS What The DREAM Car Of YOUR State Is????
Using Twitter data may not be the most scientific of approaches when it comes to research studies. First, such data only represents those who use social media—and even more specifically those that use Twitter—thus it may not represent a state-wide sentiment. Additionally, Tesla owners tend to be more tech-savvy as well as being more present in social media, which could skew the results. That being said, a survey by Gold Eagle, an automotive parts company in Chicago, Illinois, found similar results, only swapping the one and two spots, putting the Mustang above the Tesla. Their survey pointed out that people who identified themselves as car experts chose the Mustang, while those who didn’t feel very knowledgeable about cars went with the Tesla. Millennials also chose the Model S, while Gen X went for the Camaro and Baby Boomers elected the Corvette. Going by regions, Tesla fans again dominated the West coast and the Southwest in the Gold Eagle survey.

My God that's a lot of Teslas.

Not true for California because the state is NOT homogeneous. Quite the contrary. It's very heterogeneous. Locally, Teslas are not on the radar. In Palo Alto an F150 isn't the one to have. LA is very M/AMG/Lamborari.

Holy crap, I just realized MD lives in California. I always thought you were from Texas lol. You poor bastard.

I'm pretty sure none of the states are homogeneous. Have you ever been to any of them?

Quite extensively. Thank you for your bullying comments. But it is illogical to surmise that because I used California as an example that I am unaware of how other states are. If you want to be a pissy little Chihuahua, that your business, but yeah you're just "yappy".

I travel regularly through Arizona, New Mexico and sometime into Texas. I go car hunting in Georgia, N/S Carolina, and Florida. Recently I was in New Jersey meeting a new arrival.

A Wrangler is a $28k car, a Camaro starts at $25k... how are these dream cars?

No kidding... years ago my brother-in-law, my brother-in-law's ex girlfriend my wife and I were just talking and this dream car thing came up. My brother-in-law's ex girlfriends said her dream car was a Camry. I was totally flabbergasted. According to this survey I shouldn't have been.

Wow, that is not good. We need to reopen the economy asap or we're going to end up with the Mitsubishi Mirage as the national dream car.

For many Americans, a 'dream car' is one that is better than the beater they currently drive.

We are talking increments of "better" here - if you have a Ford Escape, you covet a Mustang, if you have a Chevy Cruze you covet a Camaro.

If you have a 300,000 mile Camry, perhaps you covet a new Camry. These studies are stupid.

Using Twitter data is as useless as a poll published on a web site that people go to. They in no way represent a diverse and meaningful segment of the population. For example, this shows entire states as a single vehicle. But most states have extremely varied populations within their boundary.

In Washington, the Cascade mountains divide the state into Eastern and Western WA. Two completely different population areas. But because the majority of the population resides in the Seattle-Tacoma-Everett area, they decide how the entire state goes.

Once read article about how specific car models find their way to specific regions of the country. I mention this because my grandson and I cannot figure out why there are so many sightings of Pontiac Soltices in Westchester County NY. Weird.

Wow. Sounds like I struck a nerve. I'm not a psychologist, but my guess is you need to get out more, maybe go on a road trip.

I'm heading to Tucumcari in a couple of weeks. Want to ride along? I'll be picking up the Jensen. You'd love it. And you are correct. You are no psychologist, but yes you need therapy. Mention "borderline personality disorder" in your first session to speed things along.

Where do I find a real topnotch therapist? Do I just call all the local Kia dealers?
