LEAK! 2021 BMW 5 Series Breaks Cover? Killer? Or KILL IT?
The 2021 BMW 5 Series Facelift has been leaked. The two images are giving us a close look at the front and rear-end design of the 2021 G30 BMW 5 Series LCI in M Sport Package.

What do you think of the new looks?

Dull, drab facelift of a dull, drab car. Most people will be unable to know that you're driving a new 5 Series.

Manufacturers need a better cadence:

Year 1: new car
Year 3: styling nip/tuck of nose/tail features that are readily obvious.
Year 5: full reskin /greenhouse intact
Year 7: new car

BMW has to replace their entire Design team. Their cars are horrible designs that lack any cohesiveness

I suggest you look at the sales figures for the X5 and X7. No, they do not need to replace their entire design team.

Donkerkonker just left Hyundai...

I'm pretty sure this is what 5 series drivers want. If you want some wacko modern styling you buy a Hyundai.

So if people are so pleased by the 5 Series, why did its sales die?

Looks like a fat 3 series. The only way this segment and size sells is super cheap lease so get ready for the $499 lease specials.

The time is rapidly approaching where BMW will need to merge the 3 and the 5 into a 5-sized car for a 3-sized price given the sedan collapse.

BMW is a BMW. It is the most conservative luxury auto company. Changes are due to 'refinement' and not for spectacle.

The rapid decline of a brand that used to instill SO much excitement is truly sad.

What happened?

Loved the e28, e34 and e39 BMW five series. No love for any of the newer five series.

Not going to lie but the new 2020 Audi A6 looks so much more better than this car.. Mind me, I owned a 2011 BMW 5 series and this looks too asian compared to it. The new A6 has a handsome and very german proportion to it and Audi did a great job with it especially with the presige sports package. Either way the shape is clean and upright.

Doesn't matter. Once out of warranty oil leaks and electronic bugaboos will spout galore. Will never understand this... Not to mention the fact that they cannot even figure out how to make Bluetooth work reliably and clearly is laughable.

I don't know what is wrong with this car. IMO the car design is fine. I think BMW designers did their job well. They had a car, were asked to refresh it, and did. It is one of the few refreshes nowadays that look better than the original car. Hopefully it will at least retain the same interior because im not too sure about BMWs new interior direction. If they went berserk with the design, people will complain and if they were conservative people will also complain. There is no winning. You might be looking at the last modern BMW before the funk took over.

G30 5's fundamental design flaw - looks like an enlarged 3. Everything is slightly larger, but not better or looks more expensive

Hate that Bangle flat rear trunk deck. BMW should start transforming sedan into hatchback like the Panamera

I miss when the third gen 7 and fourth gen 5 were perfectly designed.

Needs more than a facelift. The current 5-Series is the only remnance in BMW's lineup from the days when BMW tried to build Lexuses.
