Global Emissions To Fall Almost 8% Because Of Coronavirus

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released its Global Energy Review 2020, in which it explores “the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on global energy demand and CO2 emissions.”

The IEA predicts that there will be a record annual decline in carbon emissions globally of almost 8%. Further, energy demand will fall 6% in 2020. Or, as the IEA puts it, “the equivalent of losing the entire energy demand of India, the world’s third largest energy consumer.”

@MD- My bet is actually that the Trump presidency will hollow out both the House and the Senate and the Governorships across the USA. The GOP will emerge from the November vote a shadow of its former self and never recover. What the USA will do about its 25 or 30 Trillion dollar national debt is anyone's guess.

Don't worry as both China and India will make up for the global shortfall with new coal burning power plants and 2 cycle scooters emissions.
