Fan Brings Nissan's 400Z To Life - Would THIS Be On Your Bucket List?
Nissan may be in dire straits right now, but there are signs a new Z is still on the agenda even though a sports car wouldn’t really move the needle in terms of sales. The company recently trademarked an updated “Z” logo to go along with a revised corporate badge, which leads us to believe a successor to the aging 370Z ranks high on the priorities list. While that might not sound like a wise business idea given the relatively low-volume nature of the Z, it would help improve Nissan’s image severely affected in recent years.

That is a new level of ugly. I'll have to hand it to Nissan. I didn't think it was possible to get uglier than the 370Z.

God I pray that Nissan--so devoid of ideas--doesn't glom on to this. First Gilles running out of ideas for Dodge now this.

Why hand it to Nissan? Nissan had nothing to do with this design/illustration. Did you even read the article??

The point being is that this is EXACTLY what Nissan will do, therefore may as well congratulate them.

Not sure why designers like this half open clamshell roof design. I hate it personally.

The 240Z is the icon and it is the template. Why is that so hard for people to grasp. Nissan clearly doesn't get it and neither does the douchebag that did this render which Nissan will no doubt love.

Looks too much like the ugly supra. Do the Z heritage better Nissan.

The "roundness" of this abomination just gave me a flashback nightmare of the first generation Taurus that took years of electro shock therapy for me to forget.

Matt is 100% correct, 240Z is the icon, lets update that theme. Inexpensive, good handling, 2 and 2+2 model sports cars. In today's world it is also good to have at least 2 engine options. I would like a base I6 and optional I6 turbo. If they can make a single platform handle both ICE and EV, get an EV option out as well.

I'm forced to agree with Darringer on this one. Being that sports cars are but a sliver of sales in a companies portfolio today it's far better to go for a more Retro in design. Make them look classic. That's what Nissan needs to do. Also keep the thing "under 40 grand" for god sakes. Toyota going up to 50K and beyond for the Supra is fundamentally wrong.

The Supra isn't selling and is quietly incentivized. Toyota made the mistake of it costing 2X the price of the GT86 and being the same size. In person the Supra looks too small.

As I've said before:
240Z / 2.4T $27K
400Z / 4.0 V6 $31K
560Z / V8 $37K
Nismo-Z / 4.0TT $45K
