Libertarian Group Sues Trump For Not Slashing Obama's Fuel Efficiency Rules Even More

The libertarian Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) believes that Donald Trump didn’t go far enough to slash clean car standards. So it filed the first of many lawsuits to challenge the Trump administration’s rollback of Obama-era fuel efficiency rules.

CEI filed its complaint in a Washington federal court on Friday. Sam Kazman, CEI’s general counsel, told Bloomberg:

The lawsuit mentioned above is to roll back the standards even more than the Trump administration has already done, or freeze them at current levels. But not to worry the environmentalist are also suing to keep the Obama era standards in place.

I agree, they are pathetic, they keep paying for conservative red states to stay afloat. I think every tax dollar that comes from a particular state to the Federal government should go back to that same state except for natural disasters or other emergencies.

Val-horror - we live in a Representative Republic not a Democracy. Our system works brilliantly except when California/Illinois, NY (NorthEast) liberals use tax dollars to buy votes and bankrupt their states with Sanctuary rules, handouts to unions and "public service" pensions. Tell me why a state official can negotiate with unions made up of constituents that person will manage? Seems like vote buying to me or at least a conflict of interest. Also govt employees work for the taxpayers period, so they shouldn't be allowed to hold taxpayers hostage thru "strikes" or a union. Anyway well run states red states, Texas, Florida and others shouldn't have to bail them out. Cuomo already had a $5B shortfall in revenue before the Chinese Virus affected their economy. He now wants the Feds to stroke a check and blames it all on "Corona"... Chinese Virus, bunch of cowards....
