When the all-new Tesla Roadster was first unveiled in November 2017, it came with the promise of a market launch in 2020. Later on, Musk said Roadster sales would start after the release of a revised Model S sedan, widely expected at the end of 2020.

The Model S needs a total reinvention. Priority #1 is to ditch the bloated Fusion look and to recast the S as an alternative to the Mercedes S class and to adopt styling that does not look like a generic hatchback.

The Tesla styling language is stale, played-out, generic, and dull.

If Tesla was smart, they would replace the Model S and the Model X with a BMW X7 class vehicle - luxury 7-seater that skews a little sporty but with normal doors. The sedan segment is shrinking and depsite the hype, Tesla still lacks development cash.

The target should by a 7-seater Porsche Cayenne style vehicle - a sporty and luxury SUV that everyone from MB GLS to Range Rover to Escalade customers could justify buying.

The model S/X need to be freshened up and the interiors need to be moved a few notches up to be competitive with the price class. Currently very little reason to buy them over the 3/Y.

Studly looking concept and it would indeed sell like hotcakes but the bigger piece of pie would be a big ass SUV with a square ass capable of hauling lots of peeps and/or cargo. Not everyone digs or can use the fast back whale slopping ass design and need some utility.
