BREAKING! Elon Musk Threatens To LEAVE California IMMEDIATELY After The Lockdown UNLESS....
After a week of decrying coronavirus shelter-in-place orders that have left Tesla's main factory shuttered and unable to produce vehicles, Elon Musk says the company may move its factory out of the state.

"Tesla is filing a lawsuit against Alameda County immediately," the chief executive said on Twitter Saturday morning. "The unelected & ignorant 'Interim Health Officer' of Alameda is acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense!"

That was followed up with a threat to move Tesla's headquarters outside the state.

Musk is fed up and frustrated with the power crazed, lame brain liberal politicians in California. Dimocrats are the greatest enemy of the U.S.

Newsom seems hellbent on not getting re-elected. He need to override Alameda county NOW and placate Musk. Newsom has 3000 churches who will defy him and resume in-church services tomorrow. How much you want to bet the lame fucker will send in the police? That will go to SCOTUS and it won't be pretty.

Newsom's new rules allow Tesla to open IMMEDIATELY.

The city of Fremont is ready for them to open today.

The dumbasses at the Alameda county health office are what is preventing them from building cars today. Sucks for California, great for Arizona.

Democrats HATE business and their little banana republic puppet counties are hell bent on destroying lives.

My county is remarkably unscathed and yet the public health department is acting like we all gonna die.

I meant Nevada, not Arizona... long week.

I don't think it's just Democrats, it's very specific people that are overly paranoid without any real factual data.

The only reason why the People's Republic of California is still under lockdown is because greasy hair Newsom is trying to destroy the economy and hurt Trump. Fully 50% of Covid deaths in the state are due to nursing home illnesses. It's about high time Elon packs up and moves out of this fascist state.

Trump will be reelected in a landslide because the democrats are not fooling anyone with their (NOW) hysterical rantings about "quarantine".

It was great that people quarantined for the past two months but
(a) we have 'caught up' with the very real March/April hospital crises,
(b) not that many people % actually 'catch it' in a bad way, and
(c) if you do catch it in a bad way, healthcare professionals now know what to do and have treatment plans to get you better (unless you have significant underlying health issues that would have likely killed you anyway within the next 24 months).

Time for democrats to get out of the way and shift the message to one of
"..If you are very vulnerable, please stay home, be very careful, and stay quarantined for your own safety.

If you are otherwise healthy but you are terrified, please stay home if you want and if you are able. The government gave you plenty of money already and if you have savings or can stetch the welfare we gave you, feel free to keep staying home.

However, if you are in a lower risk group, please continue to use sensible precautions like wearing a facemask, washing your hands, and trying not to get too close to others but feel free to sensibly resume your life TO THE EXTENT YOU SEE FIT.

We the government acknowledge that IT IS YOUR DECISION ABOUT WHAT CHOICES YOU MAKE, WE JUST HOPE YOU MAKE SENSIBLE CHOICES UNTIL THINGS SETTLE DOWN WITH IMPROVING TREATMENTS AND/OR A VACCINE.

MDarringer and mre30, you guys should stick to talking about cars. You guys clearly have no clue about medicine, viruses and diseases. Stop spreading wrong information.
We still don't know the full extent of damage this virus can have on a person especially the recovered ones. This virus can be fatal to any age group. It does not discriminate whether you are a Democrat or republican.

You’re right, the virus doesn’t discriminate if you’re a Democrat or Republican either can unfortunately get it equally. After talking with friends in the medical community where you will see a difference is if You and/or the Doctor treatIng you if you are unfortunate in contracting the virus is a Republican or Democrat.

A Republican will be willing to try a combination of Hydroxychloroquine, a Zpack and Zinc, a Democrat will not. Unfortunately the ONLY reason for this is an extreme Hate of President Trump to the point where Democrats would prefer a person die than have a treatment that President Trump mentioned be successful.

Don’t believe me, take a look at the case of Michigan Democrat Rep Karen Whitsett that was near death until she was treated with Combination. She recovered and thanked President Trump for having brought the treatment to the attention of the country.

Look at how the Democrats treated her because of it! https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2020/04/23/democrats-plan-censure-lawmaker-whitsett-credited-trump-covid-19-recovery/3010947001/

@MDarringer and @Foncool, you should try bleach.
The people who are infected are in a desperate situation and they are trying anything. This does not necessarily mean that the medicine will work.
Bringing back to the original question, why put people in a situation to have then infected in the first place and leave them to die. Is that the republican way? I don't think so.

Musk is scared because Tesla is quickly running out of cash. And capital markets are closed right now, so very little chance of a debt or equity raise.

What a false threat about moving the factory. Musk would have to build a new factory, which would take years in the US, and hire all new workers with no experience building Tesla cars.

I don't think it would take that long to build a line at Gigafactory 1, they could probably get a basic line for the 3/Y open in 3-4 months if they worked 24x7 and repurposed existing structure space.

Another option would be building all 3/Ys globally in China and shipping them here until this insanity is over with.

If they are serious about being an automaker (vs a battery tech company) production for volume models has to move out of California.

The Texas Gigafactory was already supposed to have a line for the Model Y for the East Coast. I don't think they're married to CA, especially when stupid decisions like this will cost them billions. Reno is very close to CA, it is a 4 hour truck ride from Reno to the Fremont Factory.

I'm calling bullshit on this one as the cost to move a factory like this is massive and NOT easy. This takes years of planning and massive time cushions to implement -just ask GM after getting all that bailout money from the US and Ontario government only to close domestic (US and Canadian) production and increase offshore -aka Mecican operations and fuck over the very same people that saved your sorry ass to begin with.

They wouldn't do it overnight, but they could start a line at their Nevada Factory and eventually move 3/Y production there. The Pickup will be built elsewhere as they have already alluded to. They could shrink down the fremont factory and build S/Y/roadster there since those models will have the newest tech and it may be helpful to have the engineering staff near the factory.
