Stir Crazy Canadian Teen Caught Doing 191 MPH In Dad's Mercedes C63 AMG

The Ontario Provincial Police pulled over a 19-year-old on Saturday after the young driver was spotted driving at 191 mph (308 km/h) in a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe on Queen Elizabeth Way.

In a video shared on Twitter, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said he was “pretty much speechless” after being informed about the speeding car, saying it is “the fastest speed that I’ve ever heard of. Unbelievable speeds, we’re taking 191 mph (308 km/h).”

In this day and age, I'm going to be surprised if someone doesn't blame the car vs the driver.

Amen. The "mama bear" mentality of "my child never is responsible" is rampant.

If Jed did that--and he wouldn't because he knows he would have to face my wrath in addition to everything else--the full force of the repercussions would be his to shoulder.

I live by the motto that you let you children experience the natural consequences of their actions if it is safe for them to do so. The feeling of shame that you cause to fall on yourself is a powerful and necessary teacher.

Once the car is out of impound, it will go straight to the Mercedes dealer because the 'check engine' and 'service engine soon' and 'visit workshop immediately' warning lights will be on. It will stay there for 6 more weeks until MB fixes it (out of warranty) and the parents have to pay another $10,000 for the repairs, in addition to the $10,000 speeding fine.
