WHAT? California Panel Rejects Space X Subsidy Over Tesla's Plan To Move To Texas

SpaceX was recently denied a $655,500 subsidy for job and training funds by a California State panel on Friday.

The panel recognized CEO Elon Musk’s recent threats to move Tesla’s company headquarters from California to a new state after Alameda County officials blocked the electric carmaker’s attempt to reopen production lines at its Bay Area facility. The production plant has since reopened.

Five members of the California Employment Training Panel voted to reject SpaceX’s request for training and job money, Reuters reported. Two members voted in favor of giving the aerospace company the requested funds. Musk’s tweets regarding the shutdown of the Fremont facility, along with reports of layoffs at SpaceX headquarters located near Los Angeles, were among two of the topics discussed.

California is run by stupid, bitchy, narcissistic, Alf-left, fascist-socialist (yes that's possible), assholes that HATE business with a PMS passion.

Gavin Newsom should immediately intervene and placate Elon Musk.

So Musk will just move SpaceX too. Put it in Houston near all the other NASA infrastructure. California will lose again.

Everyone complains about socialism and big government until they want money for training, tax breaks or to be bailed out in a crisis. Tesla seems to be no different.

Oh for #FFS. In your stupidly delusional world, do you actually believe that after seeing the destruction that socialism causes that people are cheerfully wanting more of it? Maybe you need to be in the cage. #SetTheDogFree

That’s your first problem CanadianCommie. You think tax breaks come from “the government.” No, they come from the tax payer. You also feel the government is entitled to taxes (or in my interpretation, people or business’s property), but doesn’t a tax break mean smaller government?

Apparently nobody took their reading pills today. If you are all about Capitalism you should hate every corporate hand out and bail out to your core. Instead you live in a culture where you hate the government and any taxation until you need it. No true Socialist nations exist to my mind, all are a mix of Capitalism with a social safety net of some size. Canada's is smaller, The Nordic countries is larger. As well it is dumb to bring up GDP and compare nations with 37M people to those with 1.3B. Go read a book.

Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada,...
Pick one

Republicons like to use Venezuela as an example for failed socialism and Chicago for failed gun laws. They just want you to ignore the ENTIRE world.
No other advanced country has the gun problems that we have here and it's getting worse. Why not mention the gun laws in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Australia ? They just like to repeat Chicago and Venezuela like dumb parrots. Republitars probably think Chicago is a big independent country with 40 million residents.

And of all the Socialist countries you mentioned, the largest GDP of them is #10 in the world, Canada, which has a GDP that is 8% of the U.S. So yes, Capitalism works.

BTW California's economy by itself is larger than any of those countries especially the Nordic model ones.

I think its hilarious Musk screams RED PILL, while his companies wouldn't exist without government subsidies and tax breaks, which he uses generously.

I think that Musk is more of a free-marketer than Karl Marx but not by much.

Red pill has nothing to do with a political party. It's a reference to waking up from the Matrix, think related to COVID.

So they deny SpaceX over something said that refers to Tesla. Two completely different companies, providing different services, only associated because of a person connected to them both. Yeah, that's a state I'd like to live in (said no one I know).

tesla, tesla, tesla, "Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada,...
Pick one"

I'll pick none. Not a single one of those countries is socialist. They have a greater social net than the U.S., but none of the other requirements for socialism, i.e., control over the means of production, negligible personal rights, limited to non-existent legal system, etc.

Also, you might want to educate yourself regarding Switzerland's gun ownership and gun laws, which are some of the most liberal in the World and even more so than the U.S.

Remember, just because you saw on MSNBC or CNN doesn't make it so. Do the research you automaton.

Bach, Bach, Bach get with the repulicon program. When we want to make changes to healthcare, tax the rich and learn from other countries you guys go full retard on us with Venezuela.
Now you're flipping the script and telling us that none of those countries are Venezuela....DUHHHHH
Next your going to tell me Bernie is not Chavez. Watching faux news propaganda I can see how you might get confused.
When we want stricter background checks plus some of the gun solutions that other countries have done you go full retard on us with Chicago.
This is one thing I never understood about the retards on the right. If you already have your arsenal why would you be against stricter background checks? You do know it's to your benefit that the other guy has a harder time buying his guns if you already have yours or are you too stupid to realize that?
The problem is that you guys are parrots repeating Hannity and have no idea what's going on.

Typical republitard...they ask to name one socialist country that is doing well then they switch to GDP. You're forgetting to account for population and American ingenuity.
Nobody said to get rid of capitalism. There are things you can learn from other countries and make changes. Unless you're a fan of transferring all the wealth to 10 individuals. Are you one of those 10 or just typical trailer trash that doesn't know better than to vote against your own interest?
BTW, I thought you guys hated socialist California and the way it was being run? Why are you mentioning Cali? Trying to have your cake and eat it too? Would you rather run Cali like Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, etc? ....you know the typical red states.

Tesla the car company only survives because of government support, both direct (subsidies) and indirect (such as selling carbon credits, a ludicrous concept).

And even with all the support it still has lost money every single year since 2003.

BTW, I asked my Swedish friend why he didn't complain about some governmental policy. He said "oh, we're really not allowed to disagree." What a joke!

And most Red States only survive with Blue State support. The Blue states should start demanding that they get back from the Federales what they put in. Make Red states support themselves. Instead the Red States can lower taxes and give subsidies to companies like Tesla all due to the nice $ donations (via the Fed) that blues states provide them.
