Enter the Second World War and the Willys MB that gave us the Jeep CJ series as well as the Land Rover Series 1 and plenty of other heavyweights such as the J40 series Toyota Land Cruiser. There’s no mistaking the MB had started it all.

Fast-forward to the 1960s, and British company Jensen rolled out the FF. The precursor to all performance cars with four- or all-wheel-drive is often forgotten, but then again, how many people do you expect to remember a limited run of 320 quirky GTs?

Considering the power levels that now come with some turbo 4 cyl engines, let alone V6 turbo engines, delivering power to all 4 wheels, part or full time is definitely the safer way to go for drivers with no advanced training or skills. And while this trend is largely based on increased SUV sales, it is a good thing nonetheless.

PS: We finally did an assessment of the Interceptor Coupe (not the glassback) and it's in surprisingly good condition. The 440 will get pulled and overhauled with fuel injection in place of the carb set up.. The transmission may get replaced. The steering rack will definitely get replaced, but we're not touching anything else.
