Musk Spares The F-150 By Leaving A Smaller Cybertruck Pickup For Later

Elon Musk says that he is scrapping plans to make Tesla Cybertruck smaller and instead suggests that the automaker could make a different smaller electric pickup truck for the global market later.

Not long after unveiling the Cybertruck prototype last year, Musk started talking about making the electric pickup smaller to fit inside a regular garage.

Last month, Musk made several comments regarding the Tesla Cybertruck and how it will change when it reaches production.

Can't wait for the real world road test.

Cybertruck looks polarizing and cool, but one of the reasons Model S/3/X/Y are so popular is that they feature great 'ease of use' - i.e. you can see out of them and they are generally very well-designed (if a little generic).

Not sure what the market is for the "cyber-truck" aside from customers who think it looks cool.

In the recent CNBC Jay Leno car show...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3BH8edQVZ4...Elon Musk said that "Cybertruck is great as it is..but its 5% TOO BIG" so the one change we will make it to make it smaller.

So since Musk is prone to exaggeration, to me, "5% Smaller" seems like that woudl be more like "20%" smaller and that the production CyberTruck is going to basically be an angular and stretched Model X.

Call my cynical but since this is clearly not the production version, is Musk setting us up for disappointment?

So it's going into production "next week" but they haven't decided how big it will be? #TypicalTesla

I suspect it is never going into production, so sort of a moot point. That's why the deposit for the Cybertruck ($100) is so low. The Cybertruck is vaporware.
