Ford Plans Mustang Mach 1 Return In 2021 - Most Track Focused Mustang EVER
The Ford Mustang Mach 1 has floated in and out of the pony car lineup a few times since its original debut in 1969, with its most recent appearance happening 2004. I've never "gotten" the allure of the "Mach 1" name versus "Shelby" but this is getting rid of one Shelby so as not to have two Shelbys. Purely marketing. This will likely inject some life into the Mustang before the fall of 2022 when the new Mustang shows up.

For me Mach 1 was the iconic Mustang of the 70s. Myy brother had one. Noone ever saw a Shelby in real life but Mach 1s were all over the place. Beside, they already have a Shelby.

I'm a total Mustang fanatic but I'd take a 68 Shelby GT500KR over a 69 Mach I. At any rate the CobraJet is the engine to have.

A clever thing would been to have done the Mach I with a special-version V6TT dubbed CobraJet. Losing the Voodoo for the Coyote seems a step in the wrong direction to me.
