We Know The 'Murdered Out' Look Is In, But Who MISSES All The CHROME Trim, Bits And Wheels Like ME?
I saw an all new 2020 Corvette and Rolls-Royce Ghost yesterday. And in both case they were 'Murdered Out'.

For those not in the know, Murdering Out a vehicle just means everything is black. Everything.

And we get why people like and don't judge those who like their rides that way.

We understand why. It projects a bad boy appearance. Soulless. One dimensional. And today being bad is good.

But I have to say i really miss the beautiful chrome usage on both the exterior and the interior of older cars and trucks.

What say you Spies? Do you miss or is it good riddance for you?

The murdered out look hasn’t been in for 10 years. That went out around the time major manufacturers started making them appearance packages. When soccer moms and douchebag lawyers start to get it... it’s over. Just like matte paint, it came and went. I’m just saying.

While in the US - the lack of chrome was seen as making some vehicles higher class - in Europe they retained at least a certain amount of chrome (often Drip edges and around windows) that they did not send here.

The Blacked out look went too far though -WHen I bought my first Chryser Mini-van - they had a Blacked out version - it was Hideous - but it sold for a while because they made a lot of them - and priced them higher. I always like a Black Car otherwise - but I am happy that practice is ending

Good riddance. Chrome plating is extremely toxic to the environment. Just cover those bumpers with Duct Tape (Kentucky Chrome) and be done with it. Polished aluminum a gooder alternative.

So you'd rather have a toxic-to-the-environment EV?

Last car I remember with chrome trim was the Rover 75 with that side strip running through the door handles. I thought that was kinda cool.

I don't like the blacked out look at all. Probably my age, but I like chrome. :)

Chrome is cool and blacked out looks cool - depends on car.

BTW that Corvette is overdone and that add on wing - beyond tacky.

It's better looking than the spoiler Chevy came up with.

Murdered out has been out of vogue since 2015. Then again, there are still guys wearing gold chains...
