WATCH: 2021 Ford Bronco Caught Proving It's Off Road Chops
With Ford taking its time to officially unveil the 2021 Bronco, the internet has done its best to piece together teasers of the revived off-roader. Unconfirmed reports have told of its 2.3-liter EcoBoost base engine, as well as a possible 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. There's even an anticipated seven-speed manual transmission with an ultra-low crawler gear. While we've seen photos of what we believe to be the real thing, essentially zero videos of the new Bronco—disguised or not—have leaked out. That's changed now, with this 46-second clip from The Bronco Nation.

Ford's only real miss was the latest Continental. All other products have been pretty spot on. Well, the Explorer could be a little edgier, but maybe that's the spot of the Bronco. I'm betting on a major success.

The Continental did EXACTLY what it needed to do (1) re-establish names for Lincoln, (2) usher in a new design language, and (3) reassert American luxury as a viable premium "thing" to do. Sales were actually up on it before COVID. Granted they are still miserable for volume. I lived with one for a while and although you can tell it's a SuperFusion if you are familiar with a Fusion, it was a wonderful cruiser. Of the past couple years, it and the Telluride are by far my favorites for consuming miles in.

The Explorer and the Escape are both massive stumbles from the standpoint of sales. Buyers hate the ugly styling and they find both overpriced. I'm living with an Explorer now and while it is not terrible, I just don't enjoy it much. I'm already wanting it to return to the courtesy vehicle fleet. All I can say is that the Bronco and the Bronco Sport cannot come fast enough to supplant these two very poorly realized products.
