Agree 100%...Minnesota cops were categorically at fault in bringing about that death. Any protestors who are not just 'peacefully' protesting (i.e. there was a daytime "take a knee" protest on Sunday where NYPD joined kneeling with protesters) and violate laws while protesting should pay for their crimes to the fullest extent of the law.

The people who destroy property under the asupices of protesting need to be brought to justice. 'Protesting' does not equal 'destroy property or steal'.

This will get worse before it gets better. Although unemployment is sky high now, a recent poll surveying the unemployed, stated that 80% of them would soon be re-hired to their prior job.

Because of the punitive labor laws in many states, corporations are likely to use this crisis as an opportunity to permanently reduce headcount. The 'new normal' will be 8% unemployment once COVID stablizes. Companies are learning how to go about business with fewer employees at this time and they are not just going to 'hire back'.

I'm not socialist but I do have empathy for the Americans who received a poor education at the hands of the public education system (i.e. teachers unions run by and for teachers, not students) and who are too poorly educated (I didn't say 'not smart' I said 'poorly educated') to realize that they are about to be royally screwed thru no fault of their own.

What this is a failure of proper people management. The officer in question had 18 prior offences noted by his own department, yet he is still out in the field dealing with the public. This is clearly wrong.

The 1% of cops who are bad cops need to be weeded out just like regular employees are. They can't be protected by unions to be left to offend again. The buck stops with every city mayor as policing is a city service like Fire and garbage pickup.

I would want to see the "bad" cop list ever Monday morning and ask the Chief of police when these folks will be reformed or kicked off the force. Then and only then will you get the change you seek. It is long overdue.

The killing of George Floyd was evil. Rioting, looting and burning down stores is evil. The only way to deal with evil is to confront it immediately in a manner to discourage it from rearing its head again and in a stronger manner. This applies to both the policeman who murdered Floyd and the people looting and destroying property. Both these groups are in the minority but need to be dealt with swiftly. The failure these past few days is the political leadership's reluctance to strike back at evil quickly and decisively. Like a school yard bully, if you don't stand up to them they keep coming at you, each time stronger than the past. Evil exists. Evil needs to be dealt with. Actions and inaction have consequences. If a pandemic or senseless murder that everyone agrees were evil cannot bring leadership from both sides of the isle to work together for solutions and unified action against evil what ever will?

No one is defending the actions of the police officer who caused the death of George Floyd. But let's not make the mistake of blaming "far right" for the destruction and death caused by rioters. After 3 decades on this earth and 2 in the 21st century, why is it as a young black male, the son of two immigrant medical professionals from England via Nigeria, I have to deal with the daily BS of racism?

Many white Americans say it's just classism that matters, THAT'S BULLSHIT! Black people from all walks of life have to deal with such drivel and we are tired.

I grew up the son of millionaires by the age age of 9 years old, following a brief slump in fortune during earliest years of childhood.

Most of my family's inner circle, were other wealthy black professionals alongside white and Mexican family friends.

I dare anyone to tell me racism doesn't exist and excuse discrimination as "uh, black crime, uh black on black".

Most of us who emigrated here from elsewhere were affected by neocolonialistism by multinational corporations, bribing pro-sharia law tribalistic Islamists to hold a nation's economic progress hostage.

Yet, we are often castigated and shamed the same way Black Americans are. My white male fiance is often given attention or served at restaurants or establishments before I am, despite myself being the vastly wealthier person amongst the two of us, via my trust and expenses accounts from various family businesses.

They are often embarrassed when I am the one signing the check, in assuming I was some broke charity case my white fiance took to dinner or to clothe from poverty.

None of them even know my former immediate family combined, is worth half the sum of 9 figures in both USD and Pound Sterling. It doesn't even include extended family between UK, Canada, USA, and English-speaking Africa.

Yet in many cases, I am treated like a rambunctious kid from Compton looking for a purse to snatch. Particularly when I lived in Manhattan a decade ago. I work and became an engineer, simply because it was a childhood dream and I loved cars since youth in the 90s.

Some teachers scoffed or tried to discourage me, seeing me as another African-American boy. Luckily I had successful parents behind me with means, to have known a JLR exec prior to my birth and a foothold in the industry via investments & legacy ownership in past distributorship.

That right there, is not the story most black/African people in the USA have, let alone much of the world. Yet somehow, I always am touched by racism and then told it doesn't exist.
