Customers Put Audi A4 Directly Into LAST PLACE In The Near Luxury Category. Does It Really Deserve That Spot In YOUR Opinion??
Earlier today 009 posted an article covering unit sales and Tesla's Model 3 won the first place spot in the near luxury category.

No surprise there.

But what DID surprise me was the Audi A4 ended up in LAST place. The BASEMENT.

Here's the ranking list:

1. Tesla Model 3
2. BMW 3-Series
3. Lexus ES
4. Mercedes C-Class
5. Audi A4

Although I wouldn't buy one for myself I've driven it and so has Agent 00R.

He was at the media and here is his review to refresh your memory.

Bottom line I wouldn't rank it last. The key question is DO YOU? Does it DESERVE a last place finish out of these cars?

Discuss....

I'd say it deserves to be 3rd on that list.

Model 3 sales will drop significantly as the Y comes online. Just as A4 sales have gone to the Q5

Also a bit misleading as this does not factor the A5 or 4 series.

Maybe, right now the 3 is $6k less expensive than the same configuration on the Y. That's a much larger margin than what was originally expected.

The A4 is pretty terrible and overpriced for what you get. An Accord is more refined and even the Camry is smoother for driving experience. The 2.0T is thrashy. The styling is dull and outdated and it's a lease-don't-buy product. The Audi Jetta is better but it's smaller.

This is the price you pay for decades of stale styling.

Don’t you mean a LACK of Customers Puts AUDI A4 in Last Place?

In fairness, I'm sure a lot of the A4's sales were split with the A5 Sportback.

The A4 just isn't highly sought after though.

anyone seen a meme, that depicts a couple at a car dealer, the woman asks the salemen "My partner is a twat and he's got some money but isn't rich. We need a car that says 'twat with money, but not loads' "
The next picture pans out and depcicts a picture of a Audi dealership, the sales man replies "You've come to exactly the right place "

But if you combine the A5 Sportback sales with the A4, it's likely right up there with the 3 Series, maybe even above it. Granted, the 3 Series and the 4 Series GC should be combined as well and the C-Class doesn't have a Sportback.

sorry, I forgot these stats are just for California sales. So combining the Audi's sales likely would still leave it last place here.
