Tesla Officially Enters Negotiations With The Lone Star State Over New Assembly Plant

Tesla Inc. is negotiating possible incentives with a Texas county that could bring a new auto assembly plant to the area near Austin, the state capital, the Austin American-Statesman reported on Monday.

Travis County Commissioners Court is scheduled to discuss terms of the deal on Tuesday, the paper reported, citing people with knowledge of the situation. A vote is expected in the coming weeks.

Guarantee that part of the negotiations is to finally stick it to the Texas Dealers Association and allow direct sales inside Texas. Texas is one of a handful of states that don’t allow Tesla to sell cars (so much for the myth of “leave Business alone” lie they keep promoting). Elon right now is saying to the Texas Gov “no direct sales, no factory.”

Tesla and other tech companies need to get the hell out of California and their "silicon valley privilege" employee mentality.

Austin is the wrong spot. Ft Worth is better than Austin for this work.

If Austin doesn't pan out, Michigan could be next. They need to figure this out soon since the Cybertruck is supposed to be out next year. Even without painting and stamping, there is a lot of factory to build and test before cars roll off the line.
