Manual Transmission To Make A Comeback On 2021 Audi's? Will They Come With A Case Of IPA In the Trunk And Beard Wax In The Glovebox?
Audi has returned to the manual transmission with the 2021 Audi A3. It is currently unknown if this model will reach the United States. The new 2021 Audi A3 will launch this year in Europe, and next calendar year in the US. This 6 speed manual could be the return of the manual transmission in other Audi models as well.

Well a manual should be less fragile than their self-shifters.

Audi should drop a manual into the A4, S4, A5, and S5. Capture the enthusiast market that BMW left behind. Recognize the market for this is small, but would do wonders for their image.

I would love it in the A6 3.0, but that is a pipe dream.

Nothing bonds man and machine better than a slick shifting manual transmission. Sure it may be slower than paddles but a manual has a much wider range of smiles per miles in actual real life driving.

Agreed. I’m not taking my Audi to the track. But I want to have more fun on my backroads commute to work.

Not for the USA. The manual is unfortunately a dying breed.

The statistics are already in on that one -
While there remains a VERY SMALL number of people who want a Manual Trans - it is not a volume strategy.
While they are at it - they may as well bring back TUBE based Radios - because of their superior sound.
